"Search consultants under pressure—how they are trying to cut agency review costs and timelines"
I'm grateful to Lindsay Rittenhouse and Ad Age for including me in this smart piece on how agency searches don’t always have to be massive, time-consuming undertakings.
The biggest problems with the agency search process - Ad Age
There’s a growing appetite for faster, more focused reviews—especially for brands in the $2M–$4M range. I’ve seen this firsthand.
In two recent projects, clients came to me with a solid starting point:
A list of potential agencies (they just needed help expanding it),
A draft RFP (which we fine-tuned to be more focused and easier to respond to),
And a desire to run most of the process themselves—but with support on fairness, structure, and best practices.
This kind of lightweight, strategic model is absolutely viable. In fact, it's often ideal for mid-sized brands who want speed, efficiency, and clarity—without the burden of a 12-week process.
That’s where I come in:
🔹 Helping marketers evaluate inbound interest (from LinkedIn or elsewhere),
🔹 Creating smart scorecards and process maps,
🔹 Managing timelines, comms, and decision-making criteria,
🔹 And yes—integrating AI where it adds value (not replacing people but enhancing the process).
There are many ways to run a great review. If you’re thinking about one—big or small—I’m always happy to help.
